Roger Frayne, aged 88 years, of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31st, 2026. 

He was born on September 29th, 1937, in Hartland, Devon, UK, to Eric and Sophia (Braddock) Frayne. Roger attended school at West Buckland, Devon, and graduated from King’s College, University of Durham, and went on to have a successful career as a mechanical engineer in the UK, South Africa, and finally in Canada, most recently with Trans-Canada pipelines (TC Energy), where he worked from 1975 until his retirement in 2000. 

In 1964, he married Verna (Croft) and together they shared over 61 years of family life and adventures. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and hiking with Verna. After retirement, he was actively involved in community service through the Calgary Centennial Rotary Club. 

He will be fondly remembered by family and friends for his outgoing nature and generous spirit. Roger is survived by his wife, Verna, his children, Richard (Josephine Hill) and Julia (Eduardo Faria) and his grandchildren, Mark, Alison, Lucas, and Bianca. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Jill Cornish. 

A celebration of Roger's life will be held at McGinnis and Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Monday, July 13th, 2026, at 10:00 am. All who knew Roger are welcome to attend.
