Business is often considered to be very competitive, but in tough times, collaboration is the key to survival and prosperity. Business Improvement Areas (BIAs, formally Business Revitalization Zones) work with, and on behalf of businesses to promote their needs and attract customers, workers and other businesses to their areas, in good times and in bad.

The Calgary Downtown Association is the largest BIA in Calgary, proudly supporting more than 2800 business in the heart of the city since 1988. Maggie Schofield, their Executive Director, will share information on the contributions the downtown makes to the City of Calgary and what the Calgary Downtown Association does to support a strong business community.
